Non-Profit Status and Community Purpose
The Club is established as an incorporated society under the Act. Its primary purpose is to promote, develop, foster, and administer association football as an amateur sport for the well-being, benefit, and recreation of the general public.
Services Provided to the Community
The Club provides several key services and facilities to the local community, including:
- Participation and Facilities: Providing opportunities and facilities to enable and enhance the performance and enjoyment of association football.
- Inclusivity: Leading and enabling Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion across both the governance of the Club and participation in football activities.
- Leagues and Competitions: Promoting, developing, and coordinating football leagues and competitions for the community.
- Integrity and Conduct: Protecting the integrity of the sport by developing and enforcing standards of conduct as set out by WaiBOP Football Federation and New Zealand Football (NZF).
Reinvestment of Funds
The Constitution ensures that all funds—whether from registrations, sales, or contributions—are directed back into the Club’s mission rather than providing private gain:
- Control and Management of Finances: The funds and property of the Club must be devoted solely to the promotion of the Club’s purposes (such as coaching, training, and community football activities).
- No Personal Benefit: Officers and Members are strictly prohibited from receiving any distributions of profit or income from the Club.
- Reimbursement Only: Members may only receive funds as reimbursement for actual and reasonable expenses incurred or through arms-length transactions for goods and services.
- Protection Against Financial Gain: The Constitution explicitly states that no rules may be added or altered to allow for personal financial gain to any individuals.
- Surplus Assets: In the event of liquidation, any surplus assets must be vested in schools within a 4km radius of the Western Ave Sportsgrounds, ensuring the value remains within the local community.
